Val Town is a collaborative website to build and scale JavaScript apps.
Deploy APIs, crons, & store data – all from the browser, and deployed in milliseconds.
A local two-player rooftop artillery game inspired by the spirit of the 1991 QBasic classic. Built from scratch with React, Canvas, and Hono on Val Town.
Players alternate throwing bananas across a randomly generated skyline. Adjust the angle and power, account for wind, and hit the opposing gorilla. Bananas bounce from the ceiling and side walls, while buildings take damage where shots land. Each hit scores a point and generates a new city.
- Angle: 0–90 degrees
- Chiptune effects: synthesized in-browser for throws, hits, misses, and wins
- Power: 10–100
- Throw: launch the banana
- New match: reset scores and skyline
Works with mouse, keyboard-assisted range inputs, and touch screens.
