You are all invited to a teach-in this Wednesday on the topic of the FEPP levy that provides important funding to Seattle schools including Dearborn Park.

A light dinner and childcare will be provided.
About the event: The teach-in will be hosted by the Southeast Seattle Education Coalition, the Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance, and Seattle Council PTSA and will feature representatives from the City of Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning. This is a chance to learn about school funding and advocate for how the funds will be spent.
Background on the levy: The City of Seattle provides money to Dearborn Park through a levy called Families, Education, Preschool and Promise (FEPP). The levy funds approximately 100 full-time equivalent (FTE, full positions or partial positions) across 35 schools in the district. It was renewed for another 6 years by Seattle voters last November. Each time the levy is renewed, the city decides how to spend the money.
