abottom

Abottom is a useful word. It means “at the bottom.”

\n The problem is, it’s not a word—yet. I need your help: please use it (in\n email, texts, blogs, magazines, books, tweets/blueps, etc.). Here are my\n selling points:\n

It’s shorter than “at the bottom”
\n People will get it, because atop is already a word (“at the\n top”)\n

Let’s get this thing in the dictionary!

Background

\n The word abottom popped into my head in December 2025. It popped into my\n head again in May 2026, then again and again and again in August. I’ve\n only done very cursory research on the word, so I welcome your suggestions\n at pete@petemillspaugh.com.\n

\n Here’s the extent of that thin “research”: Google’s Ngram Viewer suggests\n that atop only sprouted up in the last century, and that abottom usage is near-zero but not quite zero.\n
