The blob viewer's model (scoped-blob-viewer)\n\n**All-or-nothing, and it wants to stay that way.** Single owner-allowlist gate\nin one `app.use(\"*\")` middleware (`app.tsx:349-380`); no roles, no read-only\ntier, no anonymous surface, no machine/API credential of any kind. A\n gated default is required.\n- **Dual / split mounts (a public mount + a gated mount)** — rejected: forces\n integrations to split even when public and gated routes interleave, as the\n tracker's do (`GET /` public, `GET /new` gated).\n- **A router-minted bearer scheme** — rejected: two secrets per headless client\n for no gain, since the integration's own key is what actually authorizes.\n\n## Consequences — spike evidence\n\nAll five load-bearing assumptions survived the Val Town runtime\n(`nbbaier/wayfinder-auth-spike`, kept until this ADR merges):\n\n- **Selective pass-through works.** Anonymous reaches flagged surfaces while\n unflagged ones on the same router 401; login works alongside.\n- **Bearer non-GET writes pass intact.** A bearer write completed through the\n gated router with header and body echoed byte-identical, no redirect — the\n router never touches `Authorization`.\n- **Interleaved public/gated routes behave standalone-identically.** The\n tracker-analog's `GET /new` still 403s behind the router.\n- **The login signal renders and login round-trips.** Anonymous-but-allowed\n pages show a working log-in link; logging in returns a session.\n- **Origin-bound sessions don't bite.** Routed mode is a single origin, so one\n session covers every slug (the ticket-1 caveat is moot here).\n\nOwner identification was confirmed running (2026-07-14, throwaway\n`nbbaier/wayfinder-owner-confirm`, since deleted): on an anonymous request,\n`VALTOWN_ENTRYPOINT` is populated, `parseVal().username` returns the host\nowner's handle, and — critically — `parseVal()` called inside an _imported child\nmodule_ still resolves to the host entrypoint, not the child's own val. So\n`getOAuthUserData(req)?.user.username === parseVal().username` and the\n`omitted = owner-only` default are runtime-sound, closing the last load-bearing\nunknown behind the map's spike-validation bar.\n\n## Out of scope\n\nThe build — contract API shape, option and type names, the `ctx` field changes,\nmigrating the tracker and blob viewer, docs — is a fresh effort chartered by\nthis ADR.
