Host-reflective\n can wear any interface.\n\n---\n\n## 2. Host self-identification\n\nVal Town injects `VALTOWN_ENTRYPOINT` — the `import.meta.url` of the file it\nexecuted — into the process env. The `std/utils` file helpers default to it. So\nfrom inside a mounted integration:\n\n- `parseVal()` → `{ username, name, version, branch }` of the **host** (the\n executed val).\n- `listFiles()` → the host's full file tree. This is the multi-file answer:\n enumerate, then `readFile` each source.\n- `readFile(path)` → the host's source for one file. Use `readFile`, not\n `readFileTranspiled`, to keep JSDoc and type annotations.\n- `getValId()` → the host's UUID (rename-stable cache key).\n- `parseVal(import.meta.url)` → the integration's **own** val (overrides the\n default).\n\n**Rule:** host = the executed val; self = `import.meta.url`, always. A client-side SPA as an integration frontend\n\nThe router strips the prefix (the handler runs as if at root) and rewrites\n**Location headers only**, never bodies. Every browser-resolved URL in\n it is **relative** (or an absolute esm.town URL), never root-absolute.\n2. **Client bundle** — referenced by an **absolute esm.town URL**\n (`https://esm.town/v/you/val/frontend/index.tsx`). Prefix-immune; the browser\n fetches it straight from esm.town, so the host only proxies shell + API.\n Requires the integration val to be public/unlisted — a private val's esm.town\n URL won't serve to the browser. (A single edit-fused\n request can transiently resolve latest in a cold isolate, which is misleading;\n steady-state traffic keeps the locked version.)\n- Forcing an update requires **re-resolution**: reset the lockfile, or cycle the\n specifier (pin → unpin).
