It tolerates container life, responds vigorously to pruning, and roots easily from cuttings — so this one tree becomes the mother of several future trees. That’s the syntropic move: not the best fruit, the most life per dollar.

Pick the smaller, healthier tree with good roots — not the biggest specimen on the lot.

A second stratum: a long-lived woody vine, exceptionally well adapted to the region.

Genetically distinct pair · separate 7–10-gal air-pruning pots

Two plants, because they need each other for pollination. In time they become a manageable shrub layer that can be coppiced, divided, and allowed to form a colony.
