\n Asynchronous code is code that has to wait to get responses from external sources. For example if the code\n makes a request for data via an API, the asynchronous part is when you wait for the response. A promise is an object representing the eventual Mission or failure of the asynchronous operation.\n

Callback hell

\n It's common to need to do multiple asynchronous operations that need the result of the previous operation. That would lead to callback hell because of how hard that would be to read. I included an example of callback hell below.\n

The first thing is that it handles the resolution of the asynchronous operation. The second thing is that depending on whether or not it succeeds or fails it causes a different function. \n
