The SESSFA Move-a-Thon starts on Monday!

From March 23rd to April 4th 2026, 17 schools in Southeast Seattle are joining together with the goal of raising $600,000. SESSFA will collect donations and divide the money among the schools using an equity model.

Most of the funding for our PTA comes from SESSFA and the Move-a-Thon! We use this funding for:

• Stipends for international teaching aids who support our dual language program
• 5th grade camp
• Teacher grants
• Food for multicultural night, bingo night, and other school activities

We have set a goal of raising $25,000 toward the $600,000 total. You can donate and see how much we have raised so far here:

Some events coming up during Move-a-thon:

Bike Disco: Wednesday, March 25 at 5:30pm

Wear a fun costume and ride from South Shore to Aki Kurose and back. Starts at South short at 5:30pm. Bring your bike and helmet. A partnership with SDOT’s Safe Routes to School program.

Dearborn Park Move-a-Thon Activities: Friday, March 27 during school
